Elderberry jam recipe with pectin ingredients:
- 2.2 lb (1 kg) elderberry
- 1.1 lb (500 g) sugar
- 1 lemon
- 1/2 pouch liquid fruit pectin
Wash and clean elderberries, add sugar and cook it for 30 minutes, stirring all the way.
Stir pectin and lemon juice and cook for 5 minutes more.
Pour hot elderberry jam in clean warm jars, seal them and turn them up side down for 5 minutes (to vacuum themselves).
Store jam jars in normal position in cool and dark place.
If you don’t want to use pectin, cook jam little longer to thicken as you like it.
